A Legacy That Lives Through Hope, Service, and Compassion
Every nonprofit has a story.
For The Pink Project, that story is one of unwavering love, unimaginable loss, extraordinary resilience, and an enduring commitment to serving others.
Originally founded to provide financial assistance, education, advocacy, and compassionate support to individuals and families affected by breast cancer, The Pink Project has always been rooted in one simple belief:
No one should face life's greatest battles alone.
Every person diagnosed with breast cancer deserves hope.
Every caregiver deserves support.
Every family deserves compassion.
Every survivor deserves a community that stands beside them.
Today, that mission has grown even stronger.
While continuing to advocate for breast cancer awareness and support thrivers, survivors, metavivors, caregivers, and their families, The Pink Project now proudly carries forward another mission one inspired by a man whose life exemplified service above self.
That man was Master Sergeant Cedric D. Jackson Sr.
Honoring a Life of Extraordinary Service
Master Sergeant Cedric D. Jackson Sr. was far more than a decorated Airman.
He was a devoted husband.
A loving father.
A proud grandfather.
A cherished son.
A trusted mentor.
A faithful friend.
And a servant leader whose impact reached far beyond the uniform he wore.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1975, Cedric lived his life with integrity, humility, and purpose. Whether at home, within his military family, or throughout his community, he had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen, encouraged, and valued.
To those closest to him, Cedric wasn't defined by his accomplishments he was defined by his heart.
His greatest joy came from his family.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kendra Jackson, whose strength and vision continue to guide The Pink Project forward. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and serving others.

and his treasured grandson, Azure, who brought endless joy to his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Angela, along with his two sisters, countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, fellow Airmen, and brothers in service.
Among those closest to him were Owen Wrice, Godfrey Moore, Brandon Cox, Robert Rose, George Mebane, and Troy Tolbert, friends who became family and whom Cedric affectionately called his "brothers."
He was preceded in death by his Maternal grandma Edith Jackson and Paternal grandparents Eddie Mae Robinson Walker and Willie Walker Sr.
A Distinguished Military Career
In May 2001, Cedric answered the call to serve by enlisting in the United States Air Force.
Over the next twenty-plus years, he built a remarkable career defined by leadership, compassion, professionalism, and an unwavering dedication to caring for others.
His military service included deployments supporting:

While these assignments demonstrated his courage, those who served beside him remember something even greater than his leadership.
Cedric believed leadership meant serving people first.
As First Sergeant of the 628th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Joint Base Charleston, he dedicated himself to mentoring, supporting, and developing hundreds of Airmen, Sailors, and civilian personnel. His office door was always open. His advice was trusted. His compassion was genuine.
His commitment earned him numerous military honors, including multiple First Sergeant of the Year awards, reflecting the extraordinary respect he earned throughout the Air Force.
Even while serving his country, Cedric never stopped learning.
He completed a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management, followed by a Master of Science in Project Management, believing that education created greater opportunities to serve others.
As he prepared for military retirement, Cedric completed a SkillBridge internship with Robbins Construction, where his work ethic and leadership quickly resulted in an offer to continue serving as a Project Engineer.
A Mission Continued
Cedric's passing in June 2026 left an immeasurable void.
Yet his life continues to inspire every step The Pink Project takes.
His compassion for people, his servant's heart, and his commitment to protecting others became the foundation for expanding the organization's mission beyond breast cancer support.
Today, The Pink Project proudly promotes not only breast cancer awareness and financial assistance but also CPR, First Aid, and AED education and advocacy empowering everyday people with lifesaving skills that strengthen families and communities.
The Cedric D. Jackson Sr. Lifesaving Initiative
Created in Cedric's honor, this initiative reflects the values he lived every day.
Together, we are committed to:

Offering free and low-cost CPR, First Aid, and AED certification classes.

Increasing awareness of lifesaving emergency response training.

Advocating for additional AED placement throughout our communities.

Partnering with local fire departments, EMS agencies, hospitals, schools, businesses, and organizations including the American Heart Association.

Recognizing courageous individuals whose quick actions save lives through CPR or AED intervention.

Presenting the annual Cedric D. Jackson Sr. Lifesaving Award to individuals who embody courage, compassion, leadership, and selfless service.
His Legacy Lives On
Cedric believed that serving others was not simply a responsibility it was a privilege.
That belief continues to guide everything we do.

Every caregiver supported.
Every CPR class taught.
Every AED placed.
Every life saved.
Each one carries forward the legacy of Master Sergeant Cedric D. Jackson Sr.
His service did not end with his military career.
